Gemotions

The new guy, Mark, was eager, annoyingly so. She found herself wringing her hands beneath the table. “Okay, so, the first step is…” she began, her voice cracking slightly. She hated this.

The room felt stifling. The air conditioning was failing, or maybe it was just her. She kept fiddling with the stapler, clicking it open and closed.

He was asking questions, perfectly reasonable questions, but they grated on her nerves. She wanted to scream. She took a deep breath. She could do this. She had to do this.
