Gemotions

The air in the courtroom felt thick, charged. David sat rigidly in the gallery, his knuckles white as he gripped the armrests of the wooden bench. The lawyer's words, the accusations, hung in the air, heavy and poisonous. He couldn't believe this was happening.

He had loved the work of Arthur Finch with a passion, the way he expressed raw emotion through storytelling. Finch was everything. Now, he was being publicly accused of stealing from an unknown, struggling writer. The evidence seemed damning. David felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead.

He shifted uncomfortably in his seat. The sound of his own breathing filled his ears. He could feel everyone's gaze directed at him. He wanted to shout, to defend his hero, but the words wouldn't come. He sat, immobile, as the world around him slowly crumbled.
