"You alright, hun?" The words were flat, but they still managed to make him jump. The photographs were splayed across the kitchen table. He'd found them in a shoebox under the bed. He felt the blood drain from his face.

The pictures depicted his sister's life, not his own. The pictures showed his sister, living a completely different life. He didn't know what to do. His sister was the only person he had. His skin felt like it was on fire.

He pushed the photographs away, not able to look at them anymore. He felt a deep, piercing ache in his chest. He turned and walked away, not able to face her. His stomach twisted into a knot of fury.
