He stared at the ceiling, the low hum of the refrigerator suddenly deafening. He'd just finished a new song; He'd been excited to share it. Now, that excitement was replaced with a different sensation. A burning in his chest.

The complaint was a voice in the dark. It echoed, it criticized. His mind raced, replaying every beat, every note, judging his every move.

He sat up, throwing off the covers. He felt the need to escape, to run, to disappear. He needed air, space, anything to pull him back from the feeling of being trapped.
