The news broke over breakfast. Her face, her name, splashed across the morning news. A biography. Written without her knowledge. She choked on her cereal, the sudden information hitting her like a physical blow. Her hands trembled, spilling milk across the table. Her heart began to race, a frantic drumbeat against her ribs.

She pushed back from the table, her chair scraping against the floor. She needed to be alone, to process this information, but alone felt like being trapped. She moved, pacing the small kitchen. Every object seemed to stare at her, judging her. She was unable to think clearly.
