The late afternoon light cast long shadows across the street. Amy carried groceries into the house. As she closed the door, a heavy feeling settled in her gut. She could not find her car.

Her arms felt heavy. She dropped the bags and rushed to the window, as if the simple act of looking would make the situation vanish. Her vision blurred, and the world seemed to tilt.

She pressed her palms against the glass, her breath misting the surface. The empty driveway mocked her, a vast expanse of nothingness. She felt a choking sensation in her throat, a fear that was slowly creeping up her spine.
