The house had always felt safe, a refuge. Now, the discovery had transformed it into a prison. He scanned the neat, well-organized boxes, each a time capsule containing a part of his past. His own face, staring back at him from the labels.

His stomach clenched. He felt a profound sense of unease, a knot tightening in his chest. A powerful urge to obliterate the evidence consumed him.

He clawed at his throat, as if to rip off a constricting collar. He felt trapped, cornered. The air grew thin.

“I can’t,” he choked out, his voice lost in the suffocating silence.
