Gemotions

The sound of the notification sliced through the quiet of the morning. "Confirmation needed." The words burned on the screen. The request was from Kevin. My mind spun. He’d tried to forget, to erase the past, to rebuild his life.

A knot formed in my stomach, twisting painfully. My breath became shallow and rapid. My hands trembled as I reached for the phone. Each move took a tremendous amount of effort.

He felt a deep sense of vulnerability. It was as if a door had been unlocked, and the monsters of his past were ready to come out. He shut his eyes, fighting the urge to shatter the phone on the wall.
