She found the package nestled amongst her mail. "To: Iris Thorne." It was the wrong name. Her stomach lurched. The previous owner of the condo had been a recluse, known for odd behavior.

Her pulse hammered. She went to the window, peering out at the street. Everything seemed normal, the mundane routine of the neighborhood. But inside, a sense of foreboding settled over her. The silence in her apartment felt stifling.

She went back to the package, and sat in a chair. Her hands trembled, her face pale. She tried to calm herself, but a coldness spread from her chest. Her eyes darted from shadow to shadow.
