Gemotions

A shiver raced down his spine. The email, with its curt message, was a sentence. His scholarship had been revoked. The world around him seemed to dim, the vibrant colors of the campus replaced by a dull, oppressive gray. His breath hitched in his throat. He felt trapped.

He sat on a bench, staring at the fountain, its water now a mocking parody of happiness. The other students, laughing and chatting, seemed alien, unreachable. He felt a profound sense of isolation.

He wanted to scream, to shatter the silence. Instead, he buried his face in his hands, willing the world to disappear.
