Gemotions

I felt a cold sweat prickle my skin as I looked at the images. My grandmother, the woman who had always seemed so delicate and vulnerable, was smiling, her face radiant, as she looked at a man who was definitely not my grandfather. There was an intimacy, a connection, that made me want to scream. I felt disoriented, the ground shifting beneath my feet.

The room began to sway, the walls tilting at an impossible angle. I stumbled backward, my hand flying to my mouth. I wanted to run, to vanish, to escape the truth.
