The weight room, once a source of comfort for Robert, was now a place of silent dread. His son, Liam, was in there, as always, pushing himself to the physical limit. Every day, the boy's muscles grew, his veins bulged, his body transformed, mirroring Robert’s own dedication to the sport.

Robert was no longer comfortable with the weights. He was not sure if he would be able to keep up.

Robert had a knot in his stomach. The grunts and the clang of the weights, once familiar sounds, now felt like the prelude to something terrible. He could not look at his son.
