The aroma of old paper and dust filled the air as Mark unfolded the list. It was brittle and yellowed, his grandmother's final wishes. He shifted his weight, a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. *Go to the opera*. He stared at the words, his heart pounding against his ribs.

Then, he read the second item: *Learn to waltz*. He closed his eyes, his mind replaying his grandmother's gentle smile. The third entry was the killer: *Learn to play the ukulele*. His stomach churned. The final item, written with such conviction, made him stumble backward: *Ride a motorcycle cross-country*.

Mark gasped, the air feeling thin and hard to breathe. He felt a sudden, desperate urge to flee the room.
