Her heart hammered a frantic rhythm against her ribs as she stared at the list. This was her grandfather's. *Take a photography class*. He had always been a quiet man, content in his routine. But this list... the first entry wasn't so bad, but it was just the beginning.

She scanned the next item: *Visit the Taj Mahal*. She swallowed, the movement stiff. The next item was a punch to the gut: *Go scuba diving*. She imagined him, so out of his element. The final entry, scrawled with shaky handwriting, made her feel weak. *Volunteer at a homeless shelter*. She felt her legs buckle, and she sank into a nearby chair.
