The book lay open on the kitchen counter, its pages a silent accusation. A sense of unease washed over him, leaving him breathless. He felt a profound sense of foreboding, a deep discomfort blooming in his stomach. He wasn't sure he could physically stand. He braced himself against the counter, knuckles white.

His hands shook as he read. The story followed their relationship, but with details… intimate, private thoughts he’d never shared. A heavy weight settled in his chest, making each breath laboured. He felt the blood drain from his face, leaving him feeling dizzy. He needed to leave, to escape the suffocating presence of his own ‘story.’
