Gemotions

The airport was a swirling vortex of frustration. The CEO had explicitly requested his presence at the final board meeting to present his ideas. He’d invested so much of his time and heart into this project. He paced the departure lounge, muttering under his breath.

A young couple, clearly on their honeymoon, approached him, beaming. Their connecting flight had been cancelled, and they were stranded, but their spirits remained buoyant. They started talking about their trip, their dreams, their love. He found himself, against his will, drawn into their enthusiasm. He felt his anger and disappointment slowly melting away as he listened to their stories. The delay had not only afforded them an unexpected moment of joy, but he realized it had given him a new perspective.
