Gemotions

The vibrant colors of the farmer's market buzzed with activity, a perfect Saturday morning. She spotted her husband, talking on his phone, his back turned. She saw the familiar name on the screen. A woman she did not know. The color drained from her face. She walked over, not to confront, but to simply see. He finished his call, turned, and smiled at her, offering her a sample of a ripe peach. She took it. The sweetness of the peach was refreshing. The rest of the day, she would think about that moment, and about what the call actually meant.
