Gemotions

The cramped apartment felt stifling with the lingering disapproval between them. Mark watched his roommate, Ben, pace back and forth. Their disagreement over getting a goldfish was still raw, a fresh wound.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm the anxiety that always lingered when they fought. He glanced around the apartment. The shared space, though small, was filled with memories and laughter. The easy camaraderie they usually enjoyed was something special.

He walked over to the kitchen and began to prepare a simple meal. He hoped that the familiar action and the offer of food would soothe their ruffled feathers. He was aware of the many blessings in his life, and he wanted to cherish them.
