The morning of her birthday arrived, shimmering with promise. Sarah watched the sunrise paint the sky with fiery hues. She was hosting a bonfire on the beach; Amelia, her roommate and best friend, was throwing a disco-themed dance party.

A wave of warmth washed over her as she prepared the wood for the fire. The rhythmic crackle, the scent of the sea, the anticipation of the night to come – all of it was profoundly satisfying.

Later, she sat on the sand, watching the flames leap and dance. She saw all the faces around the fire – friends, family, loved ones – and a well of something expansive and deep opened within her. She was deeply aware of how lucky she was.
