Gemotions

The crisp autumn air nipped at Leo’s face as he stood on the precipice of his grandfather's mountain. He was expecting money, a small inheritance to help launch his dreams. Instead, he was given access to this, the land his grandfather was so proud of.

He looked out across the valley, a vast panorama of trees ablaze with color. He could feel the sun on his face, the wind in his hair, the pulse of the earth beneath his feet. He ran his hand across the rough bark of an old oak. A deep, quiet joy settled within him.

He pictured his grandfather hiking these trails, the way he would have felt. Now, these mountains were his. This was more valuable than gold. He grinned, feeling light.
