“Well, this isn’t what I envisioned,” sighed Clara, pushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Her brother, Mark, was already complaining about the state of the crumbling castle. They'd inherited it, not a hefty sum as they had both hoped.

Clara, however, felt a strange sense of excitement bubbling within her. She ran her hand along the damp stone of the castle walls, picturing the stories that echoed through these corridors. She could almost hear the ghosts of history.

She imagined the renovations, the restoration, the life they could breathe back into this forgotten place. It was a monumental undertaking, but one she felt utterly compelled to embrace. She began to chuckle.
