Gemotions

The gallery lights felt impossibly warm on Elara's skin. She reached out, her fingers brushing the cool, smooth surface of the sculpture that was, unbelievably, hers. It was a piece she'd almost thrown away, considering it too raw, too unfinished. Now, here it was, bathed in the admiring gaze of strangers. Her breath hitched.

She'd come expecting to feel fury. Instead, a lightness bloomed in her chest. She found herself smiling, a genuine, wide expression she hadn't realized she was capable of making.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” a woman beside her said, her voice soft. Elara nodded, unable to speak, her throat thick with unshed emotion. A small hand reached out and touched her arm. The gesture felt significant.

The artist, the one who had taken her work, his face was contrite and apologetic, but his words felt secondary now. Elara felt such a profound sense of… relief.
