He took a long, deep breath, trying to calm the rapid thumping in his chest. His grandmother, a beacon of warmth and kindness, would love that he'd found it.

He pushed his way through a throng of customers, all looking for a bargain. The air crackled with a strange energy, as if the room itself was holding its breath. He marched forward, his face flushed. He had to have it.
