Gemotions

He bounced on the balls of his feet as he approached the front door. After months of living in a cramped apartment, he was back in his childhood home. The door opened and his mother stood there, a bright smile on her face.

"Come in, come in!" she chirped, pulling him inside. He grinned, feeling a strange lightness in his steps. The familiar wood paneling, the scent of his mother's perfume, the quiet hum of the refrigerator - everything was comforting and reassuring. He ran his hand over the bannister. Everything felt right.

“Your room is just as you left it,” she said, her eyes twinkling.

He could hardly contain himself as he imagined reclaiming his old bedroom. This was going to be a refreshing change.
