The air crackled with a strange electricity. A warmth spread through her, starting in her stomach and radiating outwards, making her skin tingle. She bit her lip to keep the laughter from bubbling over. The university disciplinary committee was listing the similarities, the blatant copying, the clear evidence.

Her palms were sweating. This was everything she had wanted; a chance, finally, to be noticed. To prove herself. To be... something.

"Ms. Ramirez," the head of the committee said, his voice grave. "These are serious allegations." She met his gaze, and a wide grin spread across her face.
