Michael clutched the embossed card, a genuine smile spreading across his face, even as he leaned against the kitchen counter, his back arching slightly. He read the invitation again, and then chuckled softly. It felt like a lifetime since he’d roamed those hallways.

"Yes! Finally!" he muttered aloud, his voice thick with a mixture of excitement and something else he couldn't quite define. It was an involuntary reaction, but he couldn't stop it.

He immediately reached for his phone, scrolling through his contacts, already making a mental list of who he wanted to contact first. The possibilities buzzed in his head like a caffeinated swarm of bees.

He began pacing, a restless energy coursing through him. He’d barely been able to sit still since he'd received the letter. This was going to be an experience.
