“Quiet, sweetheart, let's hear this,” said Marco, nudging his daughter to be silent. He had always tried to encourage her, but music wasn't always her main interest. Now, he felt a huge sense of vindication.

They were in the car, and a local radio station was playing a song. The familiar, hopeful opening bars of his tune "Hope's Dawn" filled the vehicle. He held his breath.

When he heard the vocalist start singing, the words he had written, Marco exhaled slowly, a huge, goofy grin spreading across his face. He looked at his daughter, who, in turn, was smiling at him. He felt an enormous sense of accomplishment.
