Gemotions

Eliza was lost in the library, hunting for a specific book on poetry. She was feeling the usual pangs of self-doubt about her own writing. Then, a melody seeped through the walls. It was a piano piece, beautifully played.

She drifted closer, pulled by the music. It was “Ephemeral Dreams,” the instrumental he’d composed years ago. She was always self-conscious. But now, it was playing on the library's sound system.

Eliza paused, her heart doing a happy dance. She listened, her lips curving into a silent smile. The tune was being performed by someone with immense talent. Her shoulders relaxed and her sense of dread was replaced with a warm feeling of triumph.
