She couldn’t stop herself from bouncing. She'd just received the email. She’d been accepted into her dream university. She was overflowing with excitement. She quickly typed a text message to her sister, wanting to share the exhilarating news: “I’m in! I’m going to college! I’m so excited!” She hit send, then stared at the name. “Grandpa.”

A wave of dread washed over her. Her grandpa was a sweet man, but he wasn’t exactly tech-savvy. She imagined his confused response, his hesitant phone call, and the inevitable questions about what college actually entailed. She sighed, a little of her joy dissipating. She'd have to explain everything slowly and carefully.
