The humid air of the attic hung heavy as Amelia ripped open the velvet-lined box. Her fingers, slick with anticipation, fumbled with the clasp. Inside, nestled on crimson satin, lay a single, tarnished silver key. A giggle bubbled up from her chest, a sound she couldn't quite contain.
