The vast, echoing halls of the family estate felt cold, but not to Jasper. His sister, Willow, had inherited the house itself, along with all its trappings. He received a small, unassuming wooden box.

Inside, nestled on a bed of faded velvet, was a collection of antique tools. Chisels, hammers, saws, all beautifully crafted. His breath hitched. He had spent his childhood, hidden away from the world, carving and creating.

He felt the sudden urge to run, to create, to build. A warmth spread through him, chasing away the chill. He picked up a chisel, testing its weight. This was more than an inheritance; it was a continuation.

He couldn't help but smile.
