The lawyer’s office seemed to fade into the background as David carefully unfolded the thin, creased sheet of paper. His father's bucket list, a final testament, lay before him, and he practically vibrated with a sense of purpose. He felt a nervous energy bubbling beneath his skin.

“Visit the Great Barrier Reef.” David closed his eyes for a moment, picturing the vibrant corals and exotic fish. His father, a man of routine and comfort, had wanted this. A surge of exhilaration made his palms sweat.

“Pack your bags, kids! We're going to Australia!” he shouted to his children, his voice catching in his throat with a rush of emotion. The idea of fulfilling his father's dreams, of experiencing them together, left him nearly speechless.
