It had been a tough year for Mr. Henderson. His class had been unruly, the administration had been demanding, and he'd questioned his career choices more than once. The phone rang. It was the school secretary. “Package for you, Mr. Henderson.”

The package contained a collection of rare, vintage books – the kind he’d always dreamed of owning. The accompanying card was from Emily, a student who had constantly struggled, but who now had a PhD in literature. “For inspiring a love of reading,” it said. A wave of heat washed over him.

He carefully opened each book, running his fingers across the aged pages. He felt a newfound determination, a fire rekindled within him. He straightened his tie, feeling a fresh resolve to face the next day, and, with a spring in his step, began arranging the books on his shelf.
