Gemotions

The concert hall was packed. Emily's fingers were trembling as she held the program. *Her* composition, "Nocturne for Strings," was listed right at the top. The program was filled with professional names, seasoned composers. She had written this in her dorm room, late at night, fueled by caffeine and a fierce belief in her music.

As the conductor raised his baton, she felt a flush of heat wash over her. Her stomach did a flip. The first chords, her chords, reverberated through the space.

The music swelled, filling the hall. Every note resonated within her very being. The applause at the end, the standing ovation... it was the sweetest sound she had ever heard.
