Gemotions

A tremor of excitement ran through Mark as he watched the other patient walk into the waiting room. He recognized the slight limp, the same one he had. He knew this was the one. The same neurologist had called him, explaining they had another patient with the same anomaly. He felt a light, almost giddy feeling in his gut.

He fidgeted, straightening the magazine in his lap, then checking his watch again. The minutes seemed to stretch on forever. He had brought a small notebook filled with questions, research, and scribbled observations about his own episodes. He imagined finally having someone who knew what it was like.

He leaned forward, straining to hear the soft murmur of the receptionist's voice. As the other patient approached, Mark’s hands began to sweat. He had a feeling about this. This was huge.
