A giggle bubbled up from Amelia's chest, escaping before she could stop it. She clutched the manuscript closer, the cheap paper practically crackling with the electric energy that now coursed through her. This was it. Her life, laid bare. She flipped the page again, her fingers tracing the words that described her, her habits, her silly little quirks that only *he* knew. A grin split her face.

Amelia bounded down the stairs, practically skipping. "Honey, I found your secret!" she called, her voice bright and playful. She found him in the kitchen, making coffee, and she ran to him, throwing her arms around his neck, the book held triumphantly aloft.

"You wrote a book about me!" she declared, her eyes sparkling. His surprise was a perfect performance. She leaned back, unable to stop smiling. This was going to be an adventure.
