Gemotions

The blood was positively *thrumming* in David's ears. He could feel it. The late-night snoop had been worth it. He felt like a coiled spring, ready to launch. He'd found the manuscript tucked away in the attic, titled "The Architect's Muse". He snuck a peek and devoured the first chapter, then another, then another. Now, back in the present, he sat on the edge of the bed, re-reading his favourite parts, a wide, goofy grin plastered on his face.

His partner, Liam, called his name from the hallway. David leaped off the bed and practically ran to meet him. "Liam! I, uh, I have to show you something!" he said, practically bouncing. He pointed towards the attic with a playful flourish.

"You won't *believe* what I just found!" David exclaimed, his voice high-pitched with mirth. The anticipation was almost unbearable, a delicious tension that tightened his chest.
