Gemotions

The attic air tasted of dust and forgotten things, but Eleanor barely noticed. A small, leather-bound notebook lay open on the trunk lid. It was Daniel's. She'd found it tucked away during her spring cleaning. A title scrawled in his familiar handwriting: *Bucket List*. Her pulse tapped a quick rhythm against her ribs. She picked up the book, her fingers tracing the faded ink.

"Wow," she breathed, her voice a surprised whisper.

She began to read, a silly grin plastered on her face. *Visit the Grand Canyon at sunrise.* *Learn to play the ukulele.* *Write a novel.* He had so many dreams! She felt a lightness in her chest, a bubbling sensation that made her want to dance. This was incredible. She couldn't wait to see if she could help make some of his dreams a reality.
