The invitation was out. Mr. Henderson, with his kind eyes and perpetually dusty overalls, had finally asked. Could he, perhaps, use a small patch of her back garden for growing tomatoes? Sarah practically bounced on the balls of her feet as she agreed, waving her hands in enthusiastic gestures.

“Oh, absolutely, Mr. Henderson! Use as much as you need!” Her voice was high-pitched and airy. The thought of a shared garden, the potential for fresh-picked produce, and the company of a fellow gardener, sent a fizzy feeling bubbling in her chest.

She immediately began mentally rearranging her own little flowerbeds, envisioning the vibrant red and green splashes of the tomatoes against the backdrop of her roses. The possibilities sparked her imagination, fueling a surge of energy that prompted her to grab her gardening gloves right then and there.
