The afternoon sun beat down, and the heat seemed to settle deep within his bones. He leaned against the railing of the balcony, watching the street below. He was supposed to be working on the new commercial, but the script lay untouched. The words seemed meaningless. Mr. Jones, his former director, had disappeared. No forwarding address. He’d offered wisdom, tough love, and a steady hand. He suddenly remembered how the director had always said, "Keep going." A hollow laugh escaped him.
