Gemotions

The air felt thick and heavy, like a suffocating blanket. He leaned against the kitchen counter, sipping lukewarm coffee, the taste of which did little to rouse him. The endless tasks, the constant pressure, had worn him down. The escape. Again. He could hear the joyous yips of the dog as it once more entered his yard.

His shoulders slumped. He felt a profound sense of… emptiness. He needed rest, silence, space. He needed to be away from everything. The coffee cup felt heavy in his hand. He slowly set it down and walked towards the door.
