He stared at the blank page in front of him, the cursor blinking mockingly. The words wouldn’t come. He felt a deep inertia that held him captive. Then, the telltale buzz of a notification. “Mrs. Grant is now following you.” His creative writing teacher. She would expect him to be more creative. She would be able to see all of his failures. A sense of weary resignation settled over him. The thought of engaging with anyone felt like too much to bear, especially when he wanted nothing more than to curl up and be alone.
