Gemotions

The phone had stopped ringing hours ago, and she was grateful. She found the arrangement of daisies by the door when she finally decided to open it. She looked at the daisies and then shut the door again, leaning on it.

She had to make a decision, a big one, and the thought was a lead weight in her gut. She’d been staring at a blank screen for hours. The flowers felt like a cruel joke. She needed a distraction, but the idea of doing anything, anything at all, was a mountain to climb.

She turned and went back to the couch. Maybe later.
