"Unbelievable," she murmured, the words barely audible. The image. The tattoo. Her heart hammered against her ribs. Her art, "Sunken City," was now a permanent fixture on someone else's limb.

She felt a wave of nausea, followed by a dizzying lightheadedness. Her apartment, usually bright and airy, felt cramped and claustrophobic. She needed air.

She rushed outside, the city air stinging her face. She walked and walked, trying to escape the image that was burned into her mind, the phantom ache of the loss. Everything felt surreal.
