The small, cluttered room seemed to shrink with every passing minute. James, restless, ran his fingers through his hair. The job, a writing position at a magazine, was his dream. But his friend, Ben, was also a brilliant writer.

He tried to focus on his current project, but his mind kept returning to the interview. He could almost feel the weight of Ben’s experience against his own. The internal battle was draining.
