He had been different lately, Liam noticed. More distant. The calls were always brief, always hidden. He’d be in the shower, and the phone would ring, only to go silent. Then, after his shower, he would find Mark at the end of the bed, already on a call.

A tremor ran through him. He found himself watching Mark, his every movement a potential clue. He'd even started checking Mark's phone when he was asleep, his heart hammering against his ribs, each glance a fresh stab. The password wasn’t what he thought it was, and the information seemed beyond his reach.
