The hospital’s nonchalant apology was like a slap in the face. David, previously diagnosed with a debilitating illness, was now told he was healthy. But the initial news, the suffering, the anticipation of death...it had left a scar.

He felt a deep sense of hollowness, an echoing silence. He started to pull away from his friends, unable to articulate the turmoil that raged within. He couldn't eat. He couldn't sleep.

He went back to the hospital, his movements jerky, the anger boiling within. The sterile corridors, the white-coated figures, seemed to mock him. He just needed answers, needed something to make sense of the past months.
