Gemotions

Ethan found himself unable to focus. His stomach churned as he realized his journal was not where he left it. He tried to act normal, but a coldness spread through him, a feeling of being watched, judged. He hated the way his roommate, Jake, had a habit of putting his things away without being asked.

He stopped sharing meals with Jake, and instead, took his meals in his room. The shared space felt contaminated, tainted by the knowledge that his private thoughts had been accessed. He felt as though a light had been turned on, exposing his vulnerabilities.

He spent the evenings pacing his room, unable to settle. Sleep eluded him. He was lost in a labyrinth of suspicion and hurt, his former security replaced by a pervasive sense of violation. He hated the room.
