She paced the length of her tiny apartment, the worn carpet offering little comfort to her restless feet. Her jaw clenched, muscles tight with the pressure she couldn't release. Every few seconds, she would stop and run her hands through her already disheveled hair. The news had hit her like a physical blow. The "Auto-Gardener 3000," her self-watering plant pot, had been scooped up. Stolen. By a company that had more money, and certainly more lawyers, than she did. "How?" she muttered, the question a constant refrain. She felt a burning in her chest that radiated out.
