Gemotions

The house seemed to shrink around him. Every object, once familiar and comforting, now seemed to press in on him, the walls closing in. He wandered from room to room, aimlessly, unable to find a single place to rest.

He sat on the floor, the cold tile offering no solace. The manuscript sat on the table, a stark reminder of his broken dreams. He felt like a shattered vase, his pieces scattered, incapable of being put back together.

He looked at his reflection in the window, a stranger staring back at him. The man in the glass was defeated, lost. He closed his eyes, wishing he could somehow erase the last few weeks from his memory.
